Church House Farm Holiday Cottages

CHURCH HOUSE FARM STORY

Our mission here at Church House Farm is to ensure our guests have a relaxing and enjoyable stay, share in the delights of the surrounding natural environment, and experiencing the quiet calm of nature for wellbeing and happiness. The fascinating history of Church House Farm tells us the landscape and views enjoyed by guests today at Church House Farm have remained the same for over 500 years. Over the centuries Church House Farm has been a smallholding and part of a larger farm at one time known as Canons Hall having been given to the Augustinian Canons of Gisborough Priory around 1120 by Robert de Brus. Plans show the Medieval Canons Hall on the same footprint as the present-day farmhouse, standing on a plateau overlooking the church. In more recent years planning permission was gained to convert the farm buildings into holiday cottages and the cart-house, hen-house, pigsty and cow-house became Bluebell Cottage, Buttercup Cottage, Snowdrop Cottage and Daisy Cottage. Situated at the heart of the North York Moors National Park, and a short drive to the coast, there is always more to explore when staying at Church House Farm Holiday Cottages. We look forward to welcoming you soon.
